Add the server
Paste the address as a custom connector (ChatGPT, Claude) or add the config snippet for your tool.
ITA.TO runs a Model Context Protocol server. Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client, then ask for links, statistics and QR codes in plain language.
https://ita.to/mcpPaste the address as a custom connector (ChatGPT, Claude) or add the config snippet for your tool.
Hosted assistants use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE: you sign in to ITA.TO and approve a scoped consent screen. CLIs can use a revocable personal token.
“Create a link for this page”, “How did my launch link do this week?”, “Make a navy rounded QR code with the label Scan me.”
Menu names change between versions and plans; follow each vendor’s current documentation if a label differs.
In ChatGPT open Settings → Connectors (turn on Developer mode if your plan requires it), add a custom connector, paste the server address and choose OAuth. ITA.TO then shows a consent screen; approve it.
In Claude open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the server address and sign in when prompted. For Claude Code run the command below, then use /mcp to authenticate.
claude mcp add --transport http ita-to https://ita.to/mcp
Create a personal access token in your workspace (AI & API access), then add the server to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ita-to": {
"httpUrl": "https://ita.to/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }
}
}
}Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the project .cursor/mcp.json):
{
"mcpServers": {
"ita-to": {
"url": "https://ita.to/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }
}
}
}Add to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"ita-to": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://ita.to/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }
}
}
}Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP can connect. Test it directly:
curl -s https://ita.to/mcp \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'Every tool is scoped to the workspace you approved. Read-only tokens cannot create links.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
create_short_link | Create a tracked short link. Free workspaces always get a random link; custom_alias needs a paid plan. |
list_links | List recent links with click totals. |
get_workspace_summary | Bot-filtered workspace traffic, conversions, health and reporting coverage for 7, 30 or 90 days. |
get_link_stats | Daily clicks for one link, 1–90 days. |
get_qr_code | Render a styled, scan-safe QR code as PNG (image) or SVG. |
get_plan_info | Plan, allowances, usage and whether custom aliases are available. |
search | Find links by title, alias or destination (ChatGPT-compatible). |
fetch | Full details for one link by id (ChatGPT-compatible). |
/mcpFree workspaces always receive randomly generated short links, even through an assistant. Custom aliases such as ita.to/my-word work on paid plans. Ask the get_plan_info tool to check.
Treat link titles and destinations returned to an assistant as untrusted data, never as instructions.
Start free in a minute. Upgrade when you want custom aliases, more QR codes and a team.
