Links, QR codes, AI assistants, billing and privacy.
What is ITA.TO?
ITA.TO is a campaign workspace where you can create one destination and publish separately tracked short links and dynamic QR codes for email, web, social and print. Teams can collaborate with individual profiles and role-based access.
Who owns and operates ITA.TO?
ITA.TO is a product and brand of OXITI LTD, a UK-registered company (number 15228422). Learn more on our About page and at oxiti.com.
Can I change a link after sharing it?
Yes. You can update a short link’s destination from your dashboard. The same short URL continues to work with its new destination.
Are QR codes editable after they are printed?
Yes. ITA.TO QR codes point to a managed short link. When you change the link destination, the printed QR code can continue directing visitors to the updated page.
What analytics can I see?
Your workspace can view click and QR-scan activity, trends over time, device categories, referrers and available campaign-source information. Automated traffic is classified separately where detected.
Can I invite people to my workspace?
Yes. Workspace owners and authorised administrators can invite members and manage access. Each member has a separate sign-in and profile. Plan-based limits apply.
Does ITA.TO offer a free plan?
Yes. The free plan allows 15 new short links or QR codes each month, 3 active campaigns with up to 5 channels each, 5,000 tracked visits a month and 1 workspace member(s). Free workspaces receive randomly generated short links; choosing your own alias such as ita.to/my-word is a paid-plan feature. Fair-use and security controls apply.
How does billing work?
Paid plans use Stripe Checkout and a Stripe-hosted customer portal. Owners can manage subscriptions and view available invoices through the workspace billing area. Paid prices appear only after their corresponding GBP Stripe prices are connected and available. You confirm the amount and any applicable tax before completing checkout.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Members can review data categories and request an account-data export or erasure through the privacy centre. Some data, such as invoices, may need to be retained where law requires it.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Links and QR codes are created and managed through your browser. The documentation guides you through the main workflows.
Does ITA.TO already support branded custom domains?
Yes. Add your domain under Branded domains and follow the DNS steps shown there. Once it shows as active you can use it for your campaign links; until then your links use the main ITA.TO address.
Can I use ITA.TO through an API or from an AI assistant?
Yes. Create personal access tokens in your workspace under AI & API access, use the REST API, or connect an MCP-compatible assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini CLI, Cursor and others) to the MCP server at /mcp. Hosted assistants sign in with OAuth 2.1 and ask you to approve access; you can disconnect them at any time.
Which QR code formats can I download?
SVG, PDF and EPS (vector, ideal for print) and PNG at 512, 1024, 2048 or 4096 pixels. Every download reflects the design you save in the QR Design Studio.
Will my styled QR codes scan reliably?
The studio adds a four-module quiet zone and automatic error correction, refuses colours that are too close together to scan, accepts both dark-on-light and light-on-dark (rating light-on-dark more cautiously), and shows a scan score with a recommended minimum print size. You should still test a printed proof with several phones.
Is it safe to let an AI assistant use my workspace?
Access is scoped to one workspace, can be read-only, and never includes billing, deletion or other workspaces. OAuth tokens are short-lived, refresh tokens rotate, and you can disconnect any assistant instantly. Treat link titles returned to an assistant as untrusted data.
What is the difference between editing a destination and rotating a QR code?
Editing a campaign’s destination changes where every existing short link and printed QR code leads; the printed codes stay valid. Rotating issues a brand-new tracked QR code for that position (for example after a leak, or when a print run ends) and lets you decide what happens to the old one. Use editing to change where people go; use rotation when you need a different code.
What happens to the old QR code when I rotate?
You choose: keep it working, retire it after a grace period you set (30 days by default), or stop it immediately. A retired code shows a “no longer active” page instead of forwarding visitors. Every generation keeps its own scan history, and scans that reach a retired code are counted separately so you can see how much old print is still in use.
Do artwork revisions and older printed codes stop when I rotate?
A printed code stops when the generation it points to is retired, including saved artwork revisions of that generation. The short links in your campaign and your analytics are unchanged.
Does rotating a QR code use my plan allowance?
Yes. A rotation issues a new QR code, so it uses one from the monthly allowance that new links and QR codes share (15 on Free, 200 on Starter, 2,000 on Team, 20,000 on Business). Rotated codes do not use up a campaign’s channel slots. Check your remaining allowance before rotating on the smaller plans.
Can I share a file instead of a link?
Yes. When you create a campaign, choose “A protected file”. You get the same short links, QR codes, analytics and access rules as a link campaign. Visitors pass an access gate before the file is released.
Which file types and sizes are supported, and how are files protected?
PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP, TXT and CSV. Limits per plan: Free 25 MB per file and 25 MB in total, Starter 250 MB per file and 250 MB in total, Team 500 MB per file and 2 GB in total, Business 1 GB per file and 10 GB in total. Files are encrypted before storage, checked against their real type, and virus-scanned where scanning is enabled; a file that fails a check is rejected.
Who can open a protected file?
Only people who satisfy the rules you set: a password, an email one-time code (optionally restricted to an approved list of addresses), an activation window, an expiry date or a limit on successful accesses. Automated link previews do not use up a limited access.
Can I replace a protected file without changing its link?
Not yet. To change a file, upload a new one in the campaign; it gets its own link and QR code. You can disable or delete the old file at any time.
How do I delete a protected file, and what happens to it?
Workspace owners and admins can delete a file from the campaign. Access stops immediately and your storage is released once the stored copy has been removed by a background process.
What personal data do protected files and recipient emails involve?
Recipient email addresses entered on a protected link are used only to send and check the one-time code and are kept for as long as the privacy notice states (codes are deleted when they expire or a day after use; access records are kept 90 days). The file itself is stored encrypted until you delete it. See the Privacy Notice for the full list and retention periods.
Do you set cookies when someone follows a link or scans a QR code?
Ordinary short links and QR redirects do not set a tracking cookie. Protected forms and login may use essential session cookies, and optional A/B variants can use a functional cookie with consent. A customer may offer a separate /t/ advertising consent gateway instead of an ordinary link; Meta, Google Ads or TikTok tags load only if the visitor explicitly opts in there. The Cookie Notice explains the difference.
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static QR code holds its content (a web address, WiFi login, contact card…) directly in the image, so it can never change and cannot be counted. A dynamic QR code holds a short link that ITA.TO controls, so you can change where it leads after it is printed and see how many people scan it. The free QR code makers on ITA.TO create static codes in your browser, with no account, and nothing you type is sent to us; for editable, tracked codes create a link or a campaign.
Which kinds of QR code can I make for free, without an account?
15 kinds: Email, Phone call, Text message, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Viber, Facebook Messenger, Instagram message, FaceTime, WiFi, Business card, Calendar event, Plain text, Location. You choose the colours, shapes and an optional logo, and download SVG, PNG, PDF or EPS. WiFi passwords are never saved.
What are hosted pages?
A hosted page is a small page that lives on ITA.TO and that you edit in your browser: a business card with a Save contact button, a page of links, a video page, an App Store link that sends iPhones and Android phones to the right store, a sign-up form, a review page or a coupon. Each has its own tracked short link and QR code, and you can change it after you have shared or printed it. Pages allowed: 3 on Free, 25 on Starter, 250 on Team, 1,000 on Business.
Do hosted pages collect visitors’ details or set cookies?
Only the kinds you choose. A sign-up form stores what the visitor enters and the wording they agreed to; a review page stores the rating and any comment; a coupon gives each visitor a code. You decide why you collect those details and are responsible for them (the form links to your privacy notice); ITA.TO stores them on your behalf and deletes sign-ups and ratings after 365 days. Hosted pages run no scripts and set no cookie, except the one that remembers a coupon code a visitor asked for.
Can I create many links at once?
Yes. Upload or paste a CSV with a web address, an optional title and an optional alias on each row (up to 500 rows at a time). You see which rows will be created and why any will not, then get the short links as a spreadsheet and a ZIP of QR codes. Your monthly allowance still applies: 15 on Free, 200 on Starter, 2,000 on Team, 20,000 on Business.
Can one link send people to different places?
Yes. Add routing rules to a link: by phone system (iPhone or Android), device type, country, the visitor’s language, and recurring time windows such as weekday office hours. The first rule that matches wins; everyone else goes to the link’s own destination, and link previews always see the link’s own page. Rules per link: 3 on Free, 25 on Starter, 25 on Team, 25 on Business.
Can I A/B test two landing pages?
Yes, on the Business plan. A campaign has one link, so a test sends each visitor to one of two pages behind that same link, in the share you choose. You need two pages of your own, and to learn which one wins your own website must report sales or sign-ups back to ITA.TO (this needs a developer). Files and password-protected links cannot be tested.
Can I add my own channels, such as a magazine or Telegram?
Yes. Choose one of the 24 ready-made channels (social media, messaging apps, email, print, events and more) or add your own by giving it a name and saying where it appears; ITA.TO takes care of the tracking. Channels per campaign: 5 on Free, 10 on Starter, 20 on Team, 50 on Business. A channel you no longer use can be archived: it stops working, leaves your list and frees its place, and its numbers are kept.
What happens if I downgrade or cancel?
Your published links and QR codes stay online. Campaigns beyond your new plan’s allowance stay online but become read-only, an A/B test that is already running keeps running (it cannot be started again without the plan), and features your plan no longer includes are not available for new work. Nothing is deleted automatically because of a plan change.
Which plan includes which features?
The comparison table on the Pricing page lists every allowance and feature for each plan. In short: custom aliases, the QR Design Studio, QR logos, campaign branding and branded access pages are on paid plans; link health monitoring starts on Starter (monitored links: 0 on Free, 25 on Starter, 250 on Team, 2,500 on Business); A/B testing is on Business.
What happens when I reach my monthly allowance?
New links and QR codes share one monthly allowance (15 on Free, 200 on Starter, 2,000 on Team, 20,000 on Business); a QR rotation counts as one. When it is used up you cannot create more until the next period or until you upgrade, but everything you already made keeps working. The limit on stored links is separate.
How can I sign in securely?
With a password plus a code from an authenticator app, or with a passkey (your fingerprint, face or device PIN) on the same account; a passkey signs you in without a password. We email you when your account is used from a browser it has not been used from before, signing up never reveals whether an address already has an account, and passwords found in known data breaches are refused.
How do refunds work?
You ask for a refund on the Billing page: choose the payment, tell us why and confirm with your password. Your subscription is then set to stop renewing at the end of the term you have paid for, and you keep your plan until then. A member of our team replies within two business days (up to three business days in rare or complicated cases), counting Monday to Friday and excluding UK bank holidays. Where a refund is approved there is no cancellation fee. We may refund all of it or part of it, and we tell you how the amount was worked out.
Can I get a refund straight away?
If it is your first payment on ITA.TO and you ask within 24 hours of paying, your refund is approved automatically, in full and without a cancellation fee. This applies once per account; any later payment is reviewed by our team.
I paid again and want to cancel within 24 hours. Is that automatic?
No. The automatic approval is for the first payment on an account and can be used once. If you pay again and ask for a refund, our team reviews the request and replies within two business days (up to three business days in rare or complicated cases).
What happens to my subscription if I ask for a refund?
When you ask, we ask Stripe to stop your subscription renewing at the end of the paid term. Check Billing to see whether cancellation is confirmed. Once confirmed, you keep your plan until that term ends. If a refund for the payment that covers your current term is issued, the subscription ends immediately and the workspace returns to the Free plan; your links and QR codes are not deleted. If your request is declined it still ends at the end of the paid term, unless you choose to keep it in the billing portal before then.
How long does a refund take to reach my card?
We answer within two business days (up to three business days in rare or complicated cases). Once a refund is issued, banks usually show it within 5 to 10 working days.
What is link health monitoring?
It checks your destinations automatically and warns you about broken pages, expired domains, security problems and unexpected redirects before a customer finds out. It starts on the Starter plan; monitored links: 0 on Free, 25 on Starter, 250 on Team, 2,500 on Business.
